The Mentoring Program is one of the most rewarding aspects of my membership. As a mentor, I have helped mentees define and achieve their career goals, and I have learned a ton from my mentees as well. As Co-Chair, I enjoy the quarterly gatherings of all mentees and mentors because it’s always a lively and honest conversation. Everyone is eager to share their challenges and successes, and I leave the meeting charged to tackle something new.

Mentoring
One of the key benefits of FCS membership is eligibility to participate in our highly successful Mentoring program as either a Mentor or a Mentee. Interested members submit an application, which is reviewed by our Mentoring Committee. Mentors and mentees are paired based on an alignment of mentee goals and mentor experience. Pairs are asked to meet at least monthly, virtually or in-person. The Committee stages quarterly “check-ins” for all pairs, typically in a virtual event format. Pairs also receive invitations and discounts to select FCS events. Mentorship extends for a 12-month period; upon “graduation,” mentees are encouraged to continue the relationship and are invited to participate in additional mentoring relationships as desired. Every FCS event and activity is planned, organized and executed by a committee of dedicated volunteers. To get involved in a regional chapter, please contact the leadership of your local chapter.
