Chief Marketing and PR Officer
Andrea Brimmer was named chief marketing and public relations officer of Ally Financial in 2015. In this role, she is responsible for overseeing the company’s marketing, advertising, public relations, market research initiatives, social media and brand management. Andrea joined Ally at the height of the financial crisis when the company faced intense challenges— transitioning from its roots as a captive auto finance company, while also launching the first-ever online-only deposits franchise, Ally Bank. Andrea was charged with standing-up the Ally brand; developing everything from the brand pillars and cultural framework, to creating the value proposition and delivery in the marketplace. Under Andrea’s direction, Ally emerged with a strong reputation as a “different” kind of financial services company, relentlessly focused on solving pain points that traditional institutions set forth. Since 2009, Ally has grown and diversified, and today is a top 25 digital financial services company, with not only auto and banking products, but corporate finance, online brokerage and wealth management, home mortgage, credit card and insurance products. Despite its growth, the brand has remained centered around customers and contributing to their financial well-being. In September 2016, Andrea launched the first-ever unified brand campaign in Ally's history, called “Do It Right”, highlighting the brand’s unique focus on doing things right for customers. The campaign not only aligned the full scope of Ally’s financial services offerings under one mantra, it also reflected the company’s culture and core values internally. “Do It Right” has become a point of pride for Ally, resulting in the highest consumer brand sentiment and awareness in Ally’s history. Prior to joining Ally in 2006, Riley spent 20 years on the agency side in Detroit, where she led the Chevrolet account and launched the iconic American Revolution campaign, as well as numerous product offerings. Riley was named an Automotive News 2016 ALL STAR of MARKETING for her forward-thinking approach and creative knack with the successful launch of Ally’s brand campaign earlier in the year. In 2015, she was named to the 100 Leading Women list also issued by Automotive News, which recognizes leaders in the automotive field. In 2014 and 2015, she was named to the Forbes list of 50 Most Influential CMOs. Riley holds a bachelor’s degree from Michigan State University.
Chief Marketing Officer
Russell Findlay is the Chief Marketing Officer of international specialist insurer Hiscox. Besides being CMO, he is the President of the Hiscox Foundation USA, the company’s non-profit charitable organization. Prior to Hiscox, he was the CMO of Major League Soccer and a marketing executive for PepsiCo, where he launched the Sierra Mist and PepsiMax brands. Mr. Findlay started his career at Unilever where he was their global expert in e-commerce prior to roles in brand management. He is an award winning marketer having won EFFIE’s, ACE Awards, and Financial Communications Society Awards among others. Mr. Findlay has been named one of the most influential marketers in the world by The Internationalist. In 2018, Findlay and his team won Marketer of the Year from the Association of National Advertisers, the world’s largest marketing industry trade group. Outside of work, Mr. Findlay volunteers his time giving back to the marketing community. He is on the following Boards: Board of Directors of the Association of National Advertisers, Americas governing body for the advertising community, as well as being Chairman of their Sponsorship and Events Committee; A member of the National Advertising Review Board, the group which acts as the arbiter for companies disputing competitors advertising; Board of the Business Marketing Association of New York. Mr. Findlay is also a sought after speaker on the topics of marketing, advertising and branding. He has lectured at Harvard Business School, the Wharton School of Business, the Kellogg School of Business and Yale school of Business, among others. Outside of work, Mr. Findlay owns a real estate development firm, runs his family’s 501c-3 non-profit foundation which provides college scholarships to underprivileged students and is a maple syrup producer.
Managing Director and US Marketing & Brand Officer
Jennifer Grazel is an expert in pushing the boundaries of marketing. A results driven leader and pioneer, she has dedicated her career to developing diverse marketing teams into cohesive, high performance agents of change within leading global brands. She is passionate about combining her leadership of people with the achievement of business goals. In her current role at RBC Capital Markets, Jennifer leads the marketing function in pursuit of that agenda, transforming digital solutions, establishing an insight-driven culture and setting a template for marketing’s strategic impact on the bottom line. She joined RBC Capital Markets from LinkedIn where she oversaw global strategy and full-stack marketing activities for a $200 million portfolio and 100 person sales team. Prior to LinkedIn, she launched a digital marketing practice at Prudential that developed enterprise-wide mobile, social and interactive marketing programs supporting lead generation, brand marketing and product promotion initiatives. In previous roles, she built and led interactive digital marketing teams at GE Money and Citigroup, helping both brands benefit from disruptive technologies. She has an MBA from NYU Stern and BA from Brown University, where she mentors college students through the Women’s Launch Pad program and is an incoming board member of NYC charter school, School in the Square.
