15th Anniversary FCS Financial Marketer of the Year Virtual Awards Ceremony
To celebrate the 15th annual presentation of the prestigious FCS Financial Marketer of the Year award, we invite you to join us for a virtual awards ceremony on Wednesday, December 9th at 5:30pm ET. This event will pay tribute to the 2020 FMY Award winner and the top two runners up.
The shortlist of finalists for the 2020 FCS Financial Marketer of the Year has been announced. Listed alphabetically by company, they are:
- Andrea Zaretsky, Chief Marketing Officer, E*TRADE Financial
- David Williams, Head of Advertising, Sponsorships and Creative Services, New York Life
- John Brockelman, Global Head of Brand Marketing & Communications, State Street Global Advisors
We will also present this year's FCS Jamie E. DePeau Leadership Award. The winner will be announced on Thursday, November 12.
Chief Marketing Officer
As Chief Marketing Officer, Andrea Zaretsky is responsible for defining and driving E*TRADE’s brand and marketing efforts across all retail channels. Andrea has an extensive background developing innovative business strategies to drive customer acquisition, loyalty, and engagement at iconic brands in both the Financial Services and Retail industries. She most recently served as Senior Vice President of Marketing at SEPHORA, where she led key Client Engagement functions including CRM, Loyalty, Insights and Analytics, and developed and launched the company’s first credit card portfolio. Prior to this role, she served as Senior Vice President of Marketing at Toys ‘R Us. She began her career at American Express, rising through the ranks to serve as the Vice President and Head of U.S. Customer Marketing, where she led acquisition, engagement, innovation and investment optimization. Andrea also held leadership positions at American Express in Partnerships, Rewards and Product Management. Ms. Zaretsky earned her BA from Tufts University and her MBA from Columbia Business School. She serves on the board of MarketingEDGE and on the Advisory Board of CommerceNext.
Head of Advertising & Sponsorships
David Williams is Head of Advertising & Sponsorships at New York Life, which he joined in 2012 after 10 years at Young & Rubicam where he was an Account Director.
Global Head of Brand Marketing & Communications
John Brockelman is Senior Managing Director, Global Head of Brand Marketing & Communications for State Street Global Advisors, the third largest asset manager in the world, with more than $3 trillion in assets under management. He is responsible for brand, advertising, communications, social media and creative design. John is also a member of the company’s Senior Leadership Team. During his tenure at State Street, John has won a number of marketing awards, including four Grand Prix top honors at the Cannes Lions Festival of Creativity, a record five Grand Clios and the Effie’s Most Effective Brand and Most Effective Marketer for the “Fearless Girl” campaign. His team also won the Financial Communications Society Judges’ Choice Award two years in a row for the “Fearless Girl” campaign in 2018 and the Mid-Cap ETF campaign “Crazy Enough to Work” in 2019, a collaboration with actress Elizabeth Banks. John joined State Street in 2015 after 14 years at Fidelity Investments where he served as a Senior Vice President and led corporate affairs and executive communications. Prior to this role, John held a variety of communications and corporate marketing leadership positions including serving as a company spokesperson, leading the development of an enterprise-wide message platform and managing internal, executive and corporate marketing communications teams.
