The first breakfast of 2019 for FCS NYC will focus on personalization, a topic commanding the interest and concerns of financial marketers eager to narrowcast their messages while managing privacy issues.

"Personalize or Perish" is brought to us by Idio, whose Chief Strategy Officer Kevin Li will serve as moderator for a panel discussion which will feature senior marketers finding success and ongoing challenges as they seek to incorporate personalization in their communications.

Facing increased competition and rising customer expectations, financial services leaders are investing in their digital customer experience. The standard has been set by consumer brands like Netflix and Amazon, whose responsive experiences perceive customer intent and deliver relevance in every interaction.

The discussion will open with a presentation by Forrester Research.

Crystal EastmanPanelist

Crystal Eastman is BlackRock’s Head of Integrated Marketing for the U.S. Her team leads content and distribution strategy across the BlackRock, iShares, and Aladdin brands for both the Personal Investor and Financial Advisor audience segments. Crystal’s team develops and executes channel-specific growth strategies utilizing advertising, digital marketing, direct marketing, proprietary events and sponsorships, and sales enablement tools and tactics. Prior to joining BlackRock in late 2017, Crystal held numerous high impact marketing roles across the financial services space. Crystal served as Chief Marketing Officer of an early stage commercial lending start-up, developing the corporate brand and value story, building a Marketing organization from scratch, and growing customer acquisitions over 500% during a two year period.
Crystal also spent six years at American Express, serving in a variety of Product Marketing and Customer Acquisition roles in the Consumer and Small Business groups. During her tenure, Crystal renegotiated the Hilton/American Express partnership agreement and relaunched the Hilton American Express card with improved customer benefits, resulting in a JD Powers win for Best Travel Credit Card. Crystal began her career as a management consultant, working for both BearingPoint and DiamondCluster International. In this capacity, Crystal advised financial services clientele, including Allstate; The Hartford; and Citibank, on CRM strategies and technologies. Crystal grew up in Miami, FL, and graduated from the University of Miami. She currently resides in downtown New York City with her husband and two children.

Erik Schneberger is Senior Vice President, Head of Marketing for OppenheimerFunds, Inc. and its subsidiary OFI Global. He is responsible for Brand Advertising, Public Relations, Digital Strategy, Creative Services, Client Insights and Integrated Marketing to promote the firm’s thought leadership and investment strategies across Retail, HNW and Institutional channels. Prior to joining OppenheimerFunds, Erik was Senior Vice President overseeing the Digital, Creative, Multimedia and Marketing Operations functions at Neuberger Berman globally. He was responsible for developing Neuberger Berman’s lead management/generation program, visual identity, advertising and marketing automation capabilities. Before joining Neuberger Berman, Erik was the Head of Digital Strategy for OppenheimerFunds. He has also had a number of roles across the Financial Services and Management Consulting industry with GE Money (now Synchrony Financial), BearingPoint and AON Hewitt. Erik earned his M.B.A. from the University of Connecticut and his B.A. in Computer Information Systems from the Indiana University Kelley School of Business. He is also Six Sigma certified.

Alyson Clarke has returned to Forrester and serves eBusiness & Channel Strategy Professionals. She is a highly skilled expert with extensive industry experience in both wealth management and banking. Alyson has global expertise, having previously worked at Forrester in the financial services vertical in our Sydney, London, and San Francisco offices. She is now based in New York and specializes in digital and non-digital channel strategy and innovation, in particular, the sales, service, and customer experience of financial services and advice across online channels, smartphones, tablets, and branches. Alyson has more than 19 years of financial services industry experience, including senior positions with several of Australia's leading banks and wealth management firms. She has practical experience in leading teams of people to drive results, influencing C-suite executives, and driving change across product development, sales strategy, brand, and marketing. Her previous roles include director of mass affluent and, most recently, head of bank and wealth strategic execution for Westpac; she was also head of multi-brand and vice president of product development for a leading wealth management firm in Sydney. Alyson has spoken at industry and company events in her Forrester and non-Forrester roles and is a well-regarded keynote speaker and industry commentator. She has also co-authored two books on superannuation for financial planners.

Sean Keller is vice president, head of Digital Marketing for Voya Investment Management, the asset management business of Voya Financial, Inc.  In this leadership role, Sean is responsible for driving growth through the end-to-end transformation of the digital marketing efforts of the Investment Management business, which serves Retail, Private Wealth and Institutional clients.  In addition to Digital Outreach and Marketing Strategy, Keller’s responsibilities also include transforming the firm’s Marketing Technologies and its Business Intelligence efforts. Prior to joining Voya, Sean was Vice President of Marketing Strategy & Measurement at OppenheimerFunds where he developed the firm’s predictive modeling, lead generation and marketing ROI capabilities.  Keller has also held a number of marketing roles in industries outside of Financial Services including Travel & Loyalty (British Airways), Telecomms (T-Mobile UK) and Media (GCap Media UK). Sean received his B.A. in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Richmond.

At Idio, Kevin Li serves as the Chief Strategy Officer with worldwide responsibility for strategy across product, customer success, go-to-market, and partnerships. Previously, he led the Business Solutions group at ThinkVine providing analytical and strategic support to our business development and channel partnership teams worldwide. Kevin has a strong background in designing scalable web-based applications and specialize in business development and strategic growth functions within technology start-ups. Prior projects include Symphony Organizer (a web-based personnel management system for fine arts organizations) and (a web-based entrepreneurship portal built for Washington University's Olin School of Business).
