Premier employee-owned global asset management/investment banking boutique seeks Director-level writer/strategist with financial background for newly-created role that will lead strategy development/execution for firm-wide content marketing with goal of maintaining/attracting/engaging targeted/broad audiences.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set/execute overall content marketing strategy; map content strategy in support/extension of specific marketing initiatives, evolving strategy as needed; ensure content created is helping drive business goals
- Craft industry-specific/client-focused content; optimize marketing channels; sustaining brand consistency; create efficient content creation processes/distribution strategies
- Maintain KPIs/data/metrics/analytics and meaningful ways to measure results; measure effectiveness of content; retool approaches based on results
- Build/supervise in-house/freelance team of writers/editors/content strategists/proofreaders focused on collateral/thought leadership/website copy/articles/video scripts/presentations/social media; determine and enforce editorial standards and grammar/messaging/writing/style best practices
- Apply industry knowledge and editing/writing skills to conceive/develop/create thought leadership in multiple formats; assist with creation of video scripts/video content; engage in developing digital thought leadership; oversee firm’s client newsletter
- Assess best tool/medium to communicate message to targeted audience
- Develop functional content calendar across enterprise verticals, working with vertical owners
- Conduct periodic competitive audits; supervise maintenance of content inventories/matrices
- Ensure consistent global experience; implement appropriate localization/translation strategies
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Journalism/related; Master’s degree preferred
- 10+ years content strategy/development/delivery experience, including familiarity with financial markets; prior asset/investment management experience strongly preferred
- 5+ years’ financial content writing experience
- Experience writing/editing documents with range of complexity from social media posts to thought leadership pieces/brochures
- Leader; planner; strategic thinker with creative vision; strong written/graphic/verbal communication skills; familiarity with long/short form writing and how to best leverage social media; ability to adjust tone/message for specific audiences/diverse formats and collaborate with/influence others across multiple functions; detail-oriented; ability to edit/proofread/achieve quality standards; fluent in web analytics tools/leading social media monitoring programs; willingness to embrace change/adapt strategies on the fly; ability to understand/work with stakeholders and see big picture
