Glenmede: Director of Marketing

Director of Marketing (CMO-Managing Director) 


The Director of Marketing is a strategic and a “hand-on” role that leads a team of professionals in partnering with Sales and Client Service/Relationship Management in the development and execution of marketing strategies across all of Glenmede’s lines of business. This includes the development of approaches to support new growth markets and the cultivation of current client relationships. 

This position will operate in a hybrid work environment, 2-3 days per week in the office (Philadelphia, PA). 


  • Develop and execute a multi-year strategic marketing plan that enables the business to achieve both short and long-term goals for growth and client retention. 
  • Establish and reinforce enterprise-wide marketing standards, practices, and work-flows across existing and new markets and lines of business. 
  • Shape and steward the Glenmede brand - elevating awareness for the corporate entity and sub-brands and the perceived value of the brand as compared with competitors. 
  • Guide public relations and advertising activities for each line of business. 
  • Oversee an integrated and holistic approach to marketing communications, ensuring cohesive messaging and a consistent voice across digital and print communications as well as events (in person as well as virtual). 
  • In partnership with the IT team, develop an integrated framework and governance strategy for marketing technology infrastructure (Salesforce & Pardot, Seismic, Wrike, etc.) 
  • Own strategic prioritization of Glenmede’s public facing websites (including the .com and Impactivate), with focus of organic lead generation, search engine optimization (SEO) and user-centered design. 
  • Promote a metrics driven environment to make evidence-based decisions. Create dashboards and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) with attribution to tie marketing activities across channels to new business growth (MQL, SQL, marketing/sales activity, revenue). 
  • Provide leadership to a team of Marketing professionals- recruiting, developing, coaching, and providing meaningful feedback to foster professional growth and maximize individual and team contribution. Ensure appropriate departmental design that leverages functional expertise while also ensuring strong alignment with business priorities. 
  • Develop a network of external resources (agency, freelance, contract, etc) to supplement in-house team in the delivery of marketing solutions. 
  • Manage a comprehensive budget that contemplates the cost-effectiveness of day-to-day programming and ROI of marketing investments. 
  • Stay current on evolving marketing practices and technology. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • A minimum of 15 years of marketing experience, at least five of which is in a leadership role. 
  • Understanding of digital as well as traditional marketing and advertising techniques. 
  • Hands-on experience with Marketing technology including Client Relationship Management (CRM), Sales Enablement, and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) tools 
  • Strong communication, organizational and time management skills 
  • A bachelors degree in Marketing or a related field 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Advanced certificate or degree with a concentration in Marketing 
  • Experience in the investment and wealth management industry
