Maven: Sales Account Executive - Financial Channel

Position Overview

The Account Executive for the Financial channel will be a key individual to create new digital relationships and expand the current number of advertisers and increase revenue per account in the financial endemic space for The Street, Sports Illustrated, and across the Maven properties. This person will collaborate with the Senior Vice President of Media Revenue in new areas where we have strength in audience and opportunities with our advertisers.


  • Prospect and develop key senior-level ad agency and company relationships in order to effectively build and maintain ad revenue vs. budget
  • Establish professional relationships and a robust account pipeline by prioritizing and conducting a high volume of weekly account opens and sales calls to realize maximum revenue
  • Strategically approach prospects and determine needs, marketing initiatives/ objectives, business model, budget cycle, and key decision-makers
  • Develop effective sales proposals and ad sales solutions by utilizing a thorough understanding of appropriate and available inventory
  • Conduct high-level client sales meetings and presentations to aggressively and professionally move the sales process towards an agreement promptly
  • Maximize advertising results and ensure a high renewal rate by communicating with the client services team and client to ensure contract deliverables and maximum program optimization
  • Complete regular call reports, sales pipelines, and revenue forecasts


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 3 – 5 years of success in advertising sales in the financial endemic online media
  • Well versed in digital media and industry trends
  • Solid contacts and relationships with agencies and clients in the USA with a Rolodex with financial endemic advertisers
  • Ability to sell conceptual, multi-faceted, and profitable digital programs across native, custom content, webinars, and digital media
  • Ability to think strategically from a marketing perspective
  • Ability to orchestrate internal champions at high levels to acquire necessary funding from a variety of budgets
  • Highly developed written and oral presentation skills
