Matt Quinn is Quartz’s technology editor. Prior to joining Quartz in June 2015, he was the executive editor of Advertising Age. Before that, he was the editor of CFO Journal, an online edition of The Wall Street Journal for corporate-finance professionals. Matt has held writing and editing positions with Crain’s Financial Week, Inc. magazine and American Banker. Prior to journalism, he was a financial analyst with Wenner Media, publisher of Rolling Stone, Us Weekly and Men’s Journal.

Ben Morris is a financial professional investing in public and private markets and focuses much of his attention on the emerging cryptoasset capital markets ecosystem. Ben previously developed an option hedging product for real assets, managed a proprietary portfolio as VP for Wells Fargo, and advised banks and insurance companies.  An engineer by training, Ben began his capital markets career structuring and marketing financial instruments to help institutions raise capital before and during the last financial crisis. He joined Wells Fargo’s Principal Investing division in 2009 and increased managed assets by over 4x during his tenure while generating above-market returns.  Ben left regulated banking in 2015 to focus on financial innovation in new markets, including cryptoassets / blockchain projects, real asset securitization and Reg A/A+ equity crowdfunding.  Areas of interest include decentralized credit and derivative markets, distributed asset ownership and the creation of new standards and protocols for cryptoassets that will serve both retail and institutional investors.

As president and general counsel, Josh Stein is leading Harbor's efforts to build a compliance-focused technology platform for tokenizing private securities. He was previously general counsel and chief compliance officer at Zenefits, served as general counsel at OptumRx (a subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group), was an Assistant U.S. Attorney, a federal judicial clerk and an Intelligence Officer for the U.S. Army.
