Recap
Season 4 of FCS MOVES (Members Only Virtual Event Series) continued Thursday, June 22nd with a one-on-one interview between Natalie Sunderland, Global Head of Marketing and Communications, BNY Mellon, and Alyssa Paris, Director of Sales for Nativo, the event’s exclusive programming partner.
Natalie kicked off the conversation by discussing the unexpected twists and turns her career has taken as she has gathered an array of experiences throughout her career. She talked about the unique opportunities that her role at BNY Mellon offers, how it brings to bear all the experiences she has gathered throughout her career, and how she views the Bank as a startup in a sense. She talked about how she bridged the gap from being a good marketer to a good businessperson, and how this was critical to her career development. She also stressed that it allowed her to better understand how you can contribute to a company’s value proposition.
In addition, Natalie shared her experiences about joining BNY Mellon and what the dynamics were like when she joined the company. She shared her approach to creating a refreshed brand identity at the Bank, and how she has engaged with stakeholders to achieve this. Natalie also shared her unique point of view on the role music plays in driving change and creating emotions and a vibe – an insight that was particularly interesting and revealing!
Lastly, Natalie shared her views on the legacy of BNY Mellon and how the Bank is leveraging its storied history to look to the future and continue to deliver on the promises it has become known for over the last 239 years. It was an informative conversation with one of the leading marketing minds in the financial services space!
In gratitude for Natalie’s participation in FCS MOVES, we donated $1,000 to the children’s charity of her choice: Downey Side.
