Recap
On May 27, during Boston’s first-ever Tech Week, FCS Boston staged our first local event since 2024. Hosted in partnership with Prosek Partners, the sold-out Cocktails with Content event brought together more than 50 marketing, communications, and business leaders from across the financial services and fintech sectors.
The discussion explored how organizations are embracing AI while maintaining the authenticity, trust and human judgment that underpin effective communications and marketing strategies.
Our panel featured Marissa Murray, Head of Global Content at BNY Investments; Allison MacLeod, Chief Commercial Officer at Flywire; and Alyssa Gilmore, COO, Communications at Bloomberg, with Bea Broderick, Managing Director at Prosek, serving as moderator.
Together, they shared perspectives on how financial services leaders are navigating the opportunities and challenges of AI while continuing to craft compelling, credible narratives in an increasingly crowded landscape.
Key takeaways included:
- AI is lowering the barrier to creating content. It’s also raising the bar for differentiation.
- There are two equally weighted risks right now: 1) refusing to use AI, and 2) outsourcing your thinking to AI.
- As AI generated content proliferates, trust, credibility and provenance become more important.
- The question isn’t “Can AI do this?” It’s “Should it?” and “Will it make the work better?” (remember: efficiency and productivity are NOT the same)
- Strategic judgment may become the most valuable skill in marketing and communications.
Bea noted: “Human discernment has never been more important.”
Attendees included representatives from organizations such as BNY, LPL Financial, Columbia Threadneedle, Leerink Partners, Morgan Stanley, Acadian Asset Management and many others, reflecting the strong interest in AI’s evolving role in communications and marketing. The event marked a successful return for FCS programming in Boston and an engaging evening of industry insights, networking and conversation.
In gratitude to Prosek as our exclusive programming partner, the FCS donated $1,000 to the children’s charity of their choice: The Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl — Boston’s largest ice cream festival and New England’s sweetest summer kickoff, all in support of Dana-Farber‘s mission.

FCS Boston is back! And we’re thrilled to again be partnering with Prosek to stage a Cocktails with Content event in their offices on Wednesday, May 27. The topic will be “Nailing the Narrative in the Age of AI” and we’re putting together a great line-up of marketers to drive the conversation.
In fintech and financial services, narrative is more than positioning—it’s a growth driver. And as AI accelerates content creation and competition for attention intensifies, the bar for clarity and credibility has never been higher. The firms that stand out are those that can translate complex, regulated ideas into compelling, differentiated stories, while also using AI themselves responsibly to scale and sharpen their marketing efforts.
To learn more about the role of the narrative today, we’ll hear from these panelists:
- Marissa Murray, Head of Global Content, BNY Investments
- Allison MacLeod, Chief Commercial Officer, Flywire
- Alyssa Gilmore, COO, Communications, Bloomberg
Moderated by Bea Broderick, Managing Director, Prosek, the discussion will explore how financial services leaders are approaching narrative from both sides: crafting credible stories about AI, and using AI as a tool to inform, personalize, and amplify marketing and communications.
In gratitude to Prosek as our exclusive programming partner, the FCS will donate $1,000 to the children’s charity of their choice: The Jimmy Fund Scooper Bowl — Boston’s largest ice cream festival and New England’s sweetest summer kickoff, all in support of Dana-Farber‘s mission.
We look forward to seeing you on May 27 at Prosek.
