Recap
For its first in-person event since 2019, FCS Charlotte staged a sold-out luncheon on August 27th that featured a panel discussion on “How Marketing Can Drive Strategic Planning.” Chapter president Megan Audette of Ally presided over the event, which she organized with the help of her steering committee, which included Lisa Fulks of Wells Fargo, Kyla Kappers of Ally, Chrissy Quintana of Vanguard, and Kristen Martin of TIAA, who also moderated the panel.
The panelists were:
- Angela Crawford, Head of Brand and Advertising, Wells Fargo
- Rachel Cobb, EVP, Strategy + Planning, Mythic
- Lijo Joseph, SVP, Performance Marketing Lead, OMD
Their discussion was followed by a lively Q&A round with the audience, which included FCS members from Chicago, Atlanta, Charleston, New York, and Washington, D.C.
Key takeaways from the panelists’ insights:
Get clear.
- Build your marketing strategy with a deep understanding of business strategy.
- Know your objective.
Know your audience.
- Money is emotional but products are rational.
- Be deliberate about appealing to both.
Bring the business along for the ride.
- Customer and marketing insights need to be translated for business partners.
- Always reeducate and communicate what’s in it for them.
