What Advisors Really Think About AI in Wealth Management

Recap

On March 12, the FCS partnered with Financial Planning, an Arizent brand, for a virtual event exploring new research on how financial advisors are approaching artificial intelligence and what it means for firms serving the advisor market.

The session featured Janet King, Senior Vice President of Content Strategy at Financial Planning, and Michael Moeser, Senior Content Marketing Strategist at Financial Planning, who presented findings from a survey of 250 financial advisors and registered investment advisors examining AI adoption, technology priorities and organizational readiness.

The research highlights how quickly AI is moving from experimentation to strategic discussion across the wealth management industry. Advisors identified AI-based portfolio recommendations and generative AI among the technologies most likely to transform financial planning in the coming year.

At the same time, adoption remains uneven. While many firms are actively exploring AI to support client communications, marketing, onboarding and operational efficiency, a significant trust gap remains around AI-driven investment decisions. In fact, 65% of advisors said they see moderate or significant risk associated with using AI to guide investment decisions, reinforcing the continued importance of human oversight and fiduciary responsibility.

For companies developing technology and services for financial advisors, the findings offer valuable insight into how advisors evaluate emerging technologies, where they see the most immediate value and where concerns remain.

Assessing Risk, Adoption and Competitive Strategy

The FCS is proud to partner with Financial Planning, an Arizent brand, for a free virtual event on March 12 exploring what financial advisors really think about artificial intelligence.

AI adoption in wealth management is accelerating, but strategy is often lagging behind experimentation. As firms explore use cases across marketing, client engagement, investment support and operations, many are working to balance innovation with governance, regulatory expectations and client trust.

In this exclusive webinar, Janet King, Senior Vice President of Content Strategy at Arizent, and Michael Moeser, Senior Content Marketing Strategist at Arizent, will present findings from new AI Readiness research and examine what the data reveals about:

  • Advisor sentiment toward AI driven investment decisions and perceived levels of risk
  • Where firms are seeing measurable efficiency gains and operational value
  • Regulatory and compliance considerations shaping adoption
  • What separates strategic AI adoption from isolated pilot programs

Following the research presentation, the speakers will discuss what these findings signal for firm leaders seeking to turn AI experimentation into sustainable competitive advantage.

In gratitude to the Financial Planning team for bringing this research to the FCS community, we are donating $1,000 to their children’s charity of choice: Hope & Heroes — one of our Race for Kids charities — which funds life-saving work on childhood cancer and blood disorders.
