On March 9th, FCS Charlotte staged its first “Cocktails with Content” reception – and took a unique approach. Setting it up as an “invitation only” private event, the late-afternoon get-together was sponsored by an exclusive consortium of key publishing brands focused on the Charlotte marketplace: Business Insider, The Business Journals, The New York Times, Quartz, SmartBrief, and The Washington Post.
Two dozen Charlotteans from financial brands enjoyed the intimate and casual setting at The Dandelion Market, a favorite local tavern, where the “content” component of the event featured a one-on-one interview with Victoria Karagus, VP, Integrated Marketing, Cross Community Bank, for Wells Fargo. FCS CEO Kevin Windorf peppered Victoria with questions about her approach to omni-channel advertising, the use of data to track changing customer behavior, and the long-rumored “death of the bank branch,” before opening the conversation to the very engaged audience.
The event opened with a fun trivia contest emceed by Business Insider’s Toby Hudson, chair of the FCS Charlotte Steering Committee. (The contest and its prize – a lovely bottle of wine – were won by Brian Roach, Ally.)
