FCS Opens Enrollment in Members Only Mentoring Program

The FCS is proud to announce the opening of our Members-Only Mentoring program for 2021-2022.

Our program matches mentees and mentors based on their career goals and mentor experience and interests.  Applications for both roles are open now and will close on December 6th (no exceptions!).  Mentoring will begin late December with introductions followed by a virtual get-together for all participants in January.

FCS Board Directors Karen List and Paul Leibowitz chair our Mentoring program.  Karen commented, “Now in our third year, we have reported measurable success of our participating mentees over the first two years, including new jobs, promotions and salary increases." Paul said, “My own experience as a mentor in the program proved that it can really have a positive impact on both mentees and mentors.”

The FCS launched our mentoring program as a valuable resource to our members to provide education, strategic insight, feedback and motivation to member-mentees journeying forward in their career paths. Through a full year of Covid, both mentees and mentors found exceptional value and encouraged us to continue the program as an important benefit of FCS membership.

The FCS Mentoring program is a unique opportunity to be mentored by a more senior executive in marketing, media and communications.  The focus is on honing industry knowledge as well as skills in project management, negotiating, etc. The time commitment for the program is only one hour per month, starting in December and ending next June.

Mentors of all levels are encouraged to get involved. Each pairing sets their own objectives and frequency for virtual and/or in-person meetings.

The size of the program will be based on the number of qualified applicants and pairing compatibility, taking into account each member's career aspirations and development goals.

Mentoring pairings are determined by skill/interest compatibility.  Application is not a guarantee of placement.

The final pairing announcements will be communicated prior to our program kickoff. Participants will be invited to a free virtual kick-off event in January.
