The FCS closed out the sixth season of our Members Only Virtual Event Series (MOVES) on August 17 with Megan Goett, SVP, Chief Marketing Officer of Cboe Global Markets, in conversation with Katie Weber, SVP, Commercial Strategy, Head of Financial Services at The Wall Street Journal | Barron’s Group and a member of the FCS Board Executive Committee.
Over the course of the 30-minute conversation, Megan shared insights from her path to the CMO role and discussed how she has worked to strengthen marketing’s voice within Cboe, sharpening the organization’s audience focus, and encouraging her team to push creatively within a highly regulated category. The discussion also explored the thinking behind Cboe’s award-winning “Life Is Better With Options” campaign, which earned both the Judges’ Choice Award and Best in Show – Consumer honors at this year’s FCS Portfolio Awards. Megan explained how the campaign was designed to help Cboe stand apart in a category often defined by what she described as a “sea of sameness.”
Megan and Katie also turned to some of the most immediate challenges facing financial marketers today, including AI-driven discovery, the growing importance of authoritative content, the evolving roles of SEO, AEO, and GEO, and the value of trusted media partnerships.
Other topics included Cboe’s new multi-year partnership with CNBC, how Megan thinks about measuring brand impact, and why she believes successful marketing transformation ultimately depends as much on people and culture as it does on strategy and technology.
In gratitude for Megan’s participation, the FCS is donating $1,000 to Beads of Courage, the children’s charity she selected. Megan also shared the personal connection that made the organization especially meaningful to her.
FCS members can watch the full conversation on demand and hear Megan’s complete perspective on brand building, creativity, AI, partnerships, and marketing leadership.
