Citi wins record 3 Best in Show awards plus Judges’ Choice for “The Moment”
SSGA nabs 2 Best is Show awards and Ally Financial scores 1
Bank of America blows away its own record with 38 total awards
Tonight, over 300 financial marketing professionals gathered in front of their home office screens of choice to watch the first-ever FCS Portfolio Awards Virtual Gala. The 26th annual celebration drew attendees from across the U.S. and Canada, who eagerly watched the video announcement’s of 193 awards bestowed on 2019’s most creative financial advertising, collateral, digital media, and public relations efforts.
The top prize, the Judges’ Choice Award, was won by Citi for “The Moment” (agency: Publicis New York). The work was selected by consensus from among the judging panel of 25 industry experts who each nominated their favorite from among 450+ entries submitted by more than 90 financial brands.

Bank of America, including its Merrill brand, led the night with a record-setting 38 awards – surpassing the record of 28 it set last year. BofA’s haul included 9 Gold awards.
Other big winners were State Street Global Advisors (14 awards: 2 Best in Show, 3 Gold), Citi (12 awards: Judges’ Choice, 3 Best in Show, 5 Gold), Morgan Stanley (12 awards: 4 Gold), and E*TRADE Financial (10 awards, 3 Gold).
Another 22 firms were winners of multiple awards, while 32 others received one each.

The virtual event opened with remarks by the Co-Founder and CEO of gold sponsor NewsCred, Shafqat Islam. Additional sponsors included silver sponsors the FT and Fox Business, and bronze sponsor Dianomi.
The creative agency of record for Portfolio 2020 was Living Group. The awards competition was organized and managed by McKeon Productions, who also created the virtual event’s video program.
* Best in Show trophies are awarded based on the highest average scores of the FCS Portfolio Awards judging panel, which also awards the gold, silver and bronze awards in each category. This year’s panel comprised 25 senior executives from financial firms and communications agencies.
